Adrián Carrio

Adrián Carrio is jazz pianist from Oviedo, Spain. Carrio was born in 1986, a son of pianist parents. He started playing the instrument as a self-taught musician, when he was just 6 years old. His parents sent him to learn classical piano with Marina Santamarina, but kept also studying jazz for years as a self-taught musician. In 2005 he created his own band, Rendez-Vous Project, with Javier Rubio (tenor sax), David Casillas (bass) and Jaime Moraga (drums).[1] Carrio plays the keyboards in some other projects, such as the Spanish power metal band WarCry, "Pablo Valdés & The Crazylovers", "Mokomitas", "Lydie Carell Quintet", the "Hot Club of Andalucia", and many others. He has performed on several stages in Spain, Germany, France, and Portugal. He declared that his influences come from musicians like Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, Debussy, Bill Evans, Duke Ellington, Art Tatum, Michel Petrucciani, among others.
